For our Intermediate Game Development final project, we chose to clone The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past's Eastern Palace dungeon. The project was quite an undertaking for our small group, as it demanded a large number of foundational scripts. Mainly due to the multi-level nature of the game, where the player or Link can climb to a higher elevation of the room and also go under walkways. Another challenging aspect of the project was the enemy and player scripts, and the interactions they make with each other. Coding the specific movements for each of the enemies we have took some time to develop. For example, with the stalfos enemy, we had to program it to move forward a specific amount, then have it decide whether to turn left or right, move forward again, and repeat, all while making sure it doesn't clip through any boundaries. Though we were able to complete a large amount of the Eastern Palace for the final, we weren't able to get in everything. Some of the features that we had to scrap were locked doors, moving balls, the green and red eyegore enemies, and the boss of the dungeon. All in all, despite these challenges, we feel like we were able to create a solid clone of the Eastern Palace dungeon in  A Link to the Past.
